Who We Are

The Hispanic Business Student Association was founded in the Fall of 1980 by a few students who were determined to create opportunities for the Hispanic community. These students shared a goal of providing resources for members to excel as business professionals and mold generations of successful leaders. Originally named Mexican American Business Student Association, a rapid growth of members enabled the change to an increasingly inclusive entity. HBSA is now one of the largest student organizations at Bauer and is highly respected nationwide. Here at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, we continue to generate leaders and sow the seed of opportunity for all.

A Message From Our President And Vice-President

Hola Familia! I’m Jony Sandoval, and I have the absolute pleasure of being your president for this spring 2025 semester. Over the past three years, HBSA has been more than just an organization to me—it’s been a place of growth, opportunity, and lifelong friendships. Through HBSA, I’ve secured multiple internships, developed into a stronger leader than I ever thought possible, and, most importantly, found a family that continues to inspire me every day. I’m excited to give back to the organization that has given me so much and to continue building a community where we can all grow together.

Oriana Garcia Camejo-Vice President

Hola Familia! My name is Oriana Garcia Camejo and I have the absolute honor of being your Vice President this semester. Being part of HBSA for the last year and a half has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve met some of my best friends, connected with so many professionals and developed both professionally and personally — something that wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t joined this organization. I’m excited to continue giving back to HBSA this semester and continue making amazing memories with all of you!
